Hydrology Job & Simplicity in the MT State Capital

The USDA Forest Service is advertising a job for a GS–12 Hydrologist in Helena, Montana, closing date January 10, 2011. You need to be current or past fed employee to apply and the job may or may not be limit to one-year. All of which makes me believe they job is “wired” for someone they already have in mind.

Be that as it may, Helena is nice small town (population about 30,000) on the eastern slope of the Continental Divide. It’s the capital of Montana. Life is simpler there. When I visited the Montana State Capitol Building a few years ago there were only two reserved parking spaces. They were outdoors and curbside. One space was simply marked “GOVERNOR” and the other was simply marked “Lt. GOVERNOR.” Every else in Montana state government was expected to fend for themselves with along us common folk. Now that’s simple.
